Road safety incursion aimed at Years 9-11 and VCE Vocational Major students.

Designed by road safety experts and education specialists,  Road Smart Interactive is a new, evidence-based, highly interactive incursion program for Victorian secondary schools.

Developed by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and delivered in partnership with Melbourne Museum, the program is aimed at Years 9-11 and VCE Vocational Major students.

Led by knowledgeable road safety facilitators, the program allows students to explore key road safety issues through:
•    Six interactive digital experiences, each addressing a different area of road safety
•    Engaging activities that encourage students to think critically about how they – and their school community – can help make everyone safer on our roads.

The program features elements adapted from the award-winning Road to Zero Education Complex at Melbourne Museum and uses the latest immersive technology to engage students in thinking about how they can be part of the solution to eliminating road trauma.

Designed to be set up in schools over several days, each session runs for approximately 60 minutes and caters for up to 30 students. The program is a fully self-contained experience and is set up and packed down by Road Smart Interactive staff – all the school needs to do is provide the space.

TAC also recommends inviting school staff, teachers, council and/or parent groups to visit Road Smart Interactive while it is at the school.
