Mortality
See ya Neil.

If you look at the fourth most read article on the site you will see Neil MacNeill’s name. It was a common sight on Education Today and has been for years, kind of hard to forget.

He was like that.

Today Neil passed. He will be terribly missed we’re sure, a large space will be left empty by a big personality.

His passing will be felt sharply by the many people he encountered and helped. Teachers he mentored, kids pulled into line, mates from the military, readers of his work, innumerable people have been in some way affected by Neil.

It was just the other week that he was correcting my grammar, comma splice, look it up.

You couldn't have lived a fuller existence, a childhood in the wheat belt, stints in the remote outback, service in Vietnam, a published author and a writer of many top articles for this site and its predecessor in print and of course fearless principal of decades standing and academic, Dr MacNeill did it all.

Today he left us but we remember.
