Instructure, the company behind the Canvas LMS has become a New South Wales Education Standards Authority (NESA) accredited professional development provider.
Canvas is initially offering five courses focussed on assessment, feedback and reporting standards, giving teachers the opportunity to complete their required hours to meet the nationally agreed Australian Professional Standards for Teachers
Canvas’ NESA accredited courses are a cost effective solution for teachers to complete their accreditation hours. Delivered via webinar, these five courses give both individual teachers and institutions the ability to continue teacher learning, outside of the classroom.
Judith Breedon, Head of Science at St Lukes said, “The content was not only relevant to the current education environment but timely, pertinent and accessible for teachers of all levels of mastery on the platform.”
Myles Carrick - Head of Customer Success, APAC at Instructure and a former teacher said “Canvas’ aim is to enable teachers to become more technologically proficient in the classroom, leading to a reduction in the administration burden so more time can be spent teaching the next generation. Offering courses in an engaging format allows teachers to take control of their professional development.”
