Kids activities provider Skills and Thrills has launch of its new Home Camps offering. The home camps are a new concept, created specifically during COVID-19 to help parents occupy their kids during school holidays while they work from home.

Parents can ‘host’ a few of their children’s closest friends with a Home Camp in the comfort and safety of their home. There are a wide variety of engaging activities to choose from, with everything from coding to chess to robotics to art and science. The activity providers will visit the home with all their equipment and run the camp, keeping the kids entertained for a full day, so that parents can get a full days’ work done.

Shazia Juma-Ross, CEO at Skills and Thrills says the home camps have been designed to give parents a ‘middle ground’ solution, with many currently uncertain of whether to continue keeping their children home or not.

“Parents and children had to adapt to online and distance based offerings during the lockdown period. We are now seeing that people are in different stages with their kids - some parents are looking forward to having them out of the house, while others are still concerned about the COVID-19 risks,” she said.

“The Home Camps provide a suitable alternative, with trusted friends getting together in groups that are small enough to remain safe. Each activity is run by a professional so parents can confidently take a break from supervising - this is particularly relevant with many Australians currently still working from home.”

Skills and Thrills works with industry-leading providers, with each camp being run by subject-matter experts. Children in each group can take turns going to each other's homes to ensure all the parents can have a break. The cost of a Home Camp is comparable to a traditional face to face camp and parents can use their Creative Kids Vouchers for some activities. The offering is available across Australia with plenty to offer Melbourne parents as they come out of lockdown.

Skills and Thrills is an online hub, providing a central place where parents and carers can instantly find, book and pay for engaging kids’ programs and experiences with a variety of top tier providers. The company specialises in offering both school holiday and term time activities and experiences for children of all ages.

Skills and Thrills also has Corporate Care, School Care and OSH Care arms, which helps enterprises and their staff by providing fully vetted, kids’ holiday programs with a variety of top tier providers.
