High achievement is a focus for online school.

With high achieving founders and distinguished staff, online school Crimson Global Academy (CGA) has always focussed on achievement and its latest milestone is acceptance into the Cambridge International Community of schools.

Associated with the University of Cambridge, the Cambridge International Pathway combines a world-class curriculum, high-quality support for teachers and integrated assessment, including Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge International AS & A Level qualifications, which are recognised by universities worldwide.

Kathleen Lloyd-Parker, Cambridge International Senior Country Manager for Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, New Guinea says, “Our Cambridge Pathway gives students a clear path for educational success from age 5 to 19. Schools can shape the curriculum around how they want students to learn – with a wide range of subjects and flexible ways to offer them.

“It helps students discover new abilities and a wider world, and gives them the skills they need for life, so they can achieve at school, university and work. Cambridge International registered online schools offer students and their families the flexibility to access a high-quality curriculum in a way that meets their needs.”

Schools who wish to join Cambridge International must meet a set of quality standards that cover how the school is managed, its educational values and the quality of its teaching and learning. Once a school is registered, they become part of a global community of schools and gain access to a unique range of teaching and learning resources, professional development opportunities – and a world-class curriculum and wide range of qualifications for 5- to 19-year-olds.

John Morris, principal at Crimson Global Academy, was committed to Cambridge International from the outset and wanted Crimson students to undertake Cambridge International examinations. Crimson students choose to be part of CGA and therefore are motivated to succeed. Their results to date indicate that they will succeed in the Cambridge International system because Crimson emphasises independent, motivated and active learning.

Crimson Global Academy achieved a valuation of $622.45 million following a recent round of fundraising. CGA is one of the fastest-growing online high schools with over 850 students currently enrolled across over 25 countries.

As one of their latest investors, HEAL Partner Martin Dalgleish, says, “We are very pleased to invest in Crimson and support its ambition in becoming the clear global leader in the delivery of K–12 Education online through Crimson Global Academy. The opportunity to disrupt the global K–12 education sector is substantial, and Crimson has already demonstrated the ability to scale the college consulting business globally.”

Founder and CEO Jamie Beaton says, “A number of factors have contributed to the rise of online education. The Covid-19 pandemic spurred on rapid and scaled uptake, and is among the biggest catalysts. However, at Crimson we already looked at online education as being a key element to providing world-class schooling to students no matter where they are based. What we have found is that when technology is designed and implemented deliberately with the learning experience in mind, both students and teachers benefit. Online education provides more flexibility without compromising on quality, and can even be more tailored and personalised than traditional schooling.”

“One of the core challenges behind online education is that, while the pandemic helped bring it to the fore, many weren’t prepared with adequate systems and technology to ensure a good, high-quality experience.

“In the case of CGA and its experience with online education, the opportunities include accessibility of high-quality, consistent and supported learning no matter where in the world a student may live; flexibility to work school schedules around other extracurricular activities without compromising on learning outcomes; and options to accelerate learning due to ability-led education instead of age-based categorising. It also fosters different and more global connections as students learn with other children across the world.”

The Crimson team wants to help students across the world to achieve better education outcomes, whether that is by helping them become admitted to the world’s best universities or starting earlier with gaining access to world-class education.

Since Crimson‘s foundation, some 5,000 students have received offers from world-leading universities in the US and UK including Stanford, MIT, UChicago, Duke, UCL, Imperial College London, LSE, King’s College London and more. Crimson has also assisted its students in securing over US$68m in scholarship funding and financial aid.
